Japan Tsunami Relief Jerseys
Dear friends of Pactimo,
At 2:46pm, March 11, a magnitude 9.0 earthquake shook the
seabed just northeast of Japan,
hurling a devastating wall of water into the heavily populated island,
shattering millions of lives forever. Over 12,000 are known dead and at
least another 15,000 are missing. Half a million are homeless.
An entire nation lives under the daily threat of poisonous
radiation levels.
Two of the owners of Pactimo lived in Japan for a combined
25 years among family and friends. In response to this disaster - and
in keeping with Pactimo's mission to impact society through supporting
programs aimed at children, education and health - we are launching the
first Pactimo Jersey For A Cause. All profits will be donated to
the establishment of supervised child-friendly spaces throughout
northwest Japan.
These centers will create safe places of healing for
children as adults strive to rebuild their lives. See the Pactimo
website for more information:www.pactimo.com/about
These beautiful designs feature the crane which is the
Japanese symbol of fortune and happiness, and the Japanese story of the
senbazuru which tells of one girl's wish for healing by folding 1000
paper cranes. The characters for "hope" and "Japan"
are also included. These designs were personally selected by friends in
Japan who are persevering through these difficult times. Printed
on men's and women's specific Ascent jerseys (Race fit, Quattrolite
fabric, mesh side panels, full length zip), these collector's items
will take a special place in your cycling wardrobe.
Please join us in combining our passion for cycling with a
compassion for others. All orders received by April 15 will be
delivered by May 14. Orders received after April 15 will be
delivered within four weeks.
